Dom Pérignon has been part of the history of CDLC Carpe Diem Barcelona for almost two decades. The restaurant-club on Passeig Marítim has been an Official Dom Pérignon Ambassador since 2008, a relationship that has developed through gastronomy, Club & VIP Service and some of Carpe Diem’s most memorable nights.

Champagne at the table, large formats in the club, parties created around the Maison and a recurring presence at the New Year’s Eve Gala Dinner are all part of this shared history. A relationship that brings Dom Pérignon into different areas of CDLC: the product itself, food pairing, celebration and nightlife.

Dom Pérignon: A Maison Built Around Vintage

Dom Pérignon’s philosophy is based on one clear principle: “Vintage only”. The Maison produces only vintage Champagne, meaning that each creation is tied to a specific harvest and reflects both the characteristics of that particular year and the identity of Dom Pérignon.

Time therefore plays a fundamental role. A Dom Pérignon Vintage requires a minimum of eight years of elaboration, while Rosé needs twelve years or more before reaching its expression. Each vintage consequently develops its own character, which is why there is no single tasting profile that can be applied to every Dom Pérignon Vintage.

CDLC, Official Dom Pérignon Ambassador Since 2008

The relationship between the two brands dates back to 2008, when CDLC became an Official Dom Pérignon Ambassador. This distinction continues to form part of Carpe Diem’s identity today and of its Club & VIP Service offering.

Over the years, Dom Pérignon has been present across different areas of CDLC: from the table and private celebrations to large-format bottles, club nights, special activations and the different New Year’s Eve editions.

The current Club & VIP Service menu includes Dom Pérignon Vintage Luminous Label in bottle, 1.5-litre Magnum, 3-litre Jeroboam and 6-litre Mathusalem formats. Dom Pérignon Rosé Vintage Luminous Label is also available in bottle, Magnum and Jeroboam formats.

These formats reflect an important part of the Maison’s presence at CDLC: Dom Pérignon can accompany a dinner or private celebration and remain part of the evening as the club takes over.

Champagne Pairing in Barcelona: CDLC’s Cuisine

Champagne can accompany an entire meal. The Comité Champagne considers pairings with a wide variety of ingredients and dishes, including seafood, sushi, caviar, tuna tartare, ceviche, lobster and grilled meats, with different styles of Champagne selected according to each dish.

This approach fits particularly well with CDLC’s cuisine, built around a fusion of Asian, Arabic and Indian gastronomy with a Mediterranean essence. The menu combines seafood, raw preparations, sushi, spices, rice dishes and grilled dishes, opening up different possibilities for bringing Champagne to the table.

Among the current starters are dishes such as Normandy Oysters, Mediterranean Tuna prepared with Balfegó bluefin tuna tartare, Sea Bass Ceviche, Red Prawn Carpaccio and Royal Oscietra Caviar.

The menu continues with a wide selection of sushi, nigiri and sashimi, including options such as Hokkai, Spicy Tuna, California King Crab and CDLC Furay. These ingredients and preparations also feature among the food-pairing suggestions highlighted by the Comité Champagne.

Champagne does not have to end with the starters either. Dishes such as Gindara with miso, Mediterranean Turbot, Mediterranean Rice and Grilled Lobster extend the possibilities throughout the rest of the dinner. The specific choice will always depend on the style and vintage being served at the time.

Concepts that have shaped the history of Dom Pérignon at CDLC Barcelona

Dom Pérignon in CDLC’s Nightlife History

The relationship between CDLC and Dom Pérignon has also been part of the club’s history. Over the years, different concepts and Friday nights have carried the Maison’s name and identity, including Barock, Dancing Spies, Luminous, Deep Rouge and The Shield by Dom Pérignon.

Each concept belonged to a different period in Carpe Diem’s programming, with its own staging, identity and special activations linked to Dom Pérignon. This continued presence has accompanied the evolution of nightlife at CDLC and reflects how the collaboration between the two brands has also developed beyond the table and VIP service.

Special Editions: Dom Pérignon and Art

Collaborations with artists are also part of Dom Pérignon’s history. Over the years, the Maison has worked with different figures from the world of contemporary creativity and, in 2024, presented a Dom Pérignon Vintage 2015 Special Edition dedicated to Jean-Michel Basquiat, developed together with the holders of the artist’s rights.

CDLC also featured this special edition and hosted a presentation in Barcelona linked to its arrival at the club. It is one example of how selected Dom Pérignon creations have also found their place within Carpe Diem’s programming and historical archive.

New Year’s Eve Gala Dinner: A Tradition with Dom Pérignon

The relationship between CDLC and Dom Pérignon becomes especially visible every New Year’s Eve. The New Year’s Eve Gala Dinner has been consistently linked to the Maison, integrating Dom Pérignon into one of the most important celebrations on the Carpe Diem calendar.

Across the different editions, the brand’s presence has adapted to each proposal, featuring different Vintages, formats and special editions. This continuity has made Dom Pérignon a recognisable part of New Year’s Eve at CDLC, bringing together gastronomy, Champagne and nightlife within the same concept.

CDLC combines restaurant and club in the same space overlooking the Mediterranean. Dinner can begin on the terrace, continue over a bottle of Dom Pérignon and later move naturally into the night-time programming and Club & VIP Service.
